Google 15

3 weeks (16th Aug - 6th Sept): 24.9 less 22.1 pounds left = 3.8 pounds
or 1.3 pounds per week lost.

7th July 27.6 pounds left - 22.1 pounds left today = 5.5 pounds / 9 weeks = 0.6 pounds /week
Therefore, weight loss per week has doubled recently!

BMI - Body Mass Index = kg/m2
177.1 pounds/2.2046 = 80.3 kg
(1 kilogram is equal to 2.20462262185 pound)
5'7" = 67" = 170.2cm = 1.702m = 2.896m2
BMI = 80.3/2.896 = 27.7
(BMI 25-30 is overweight)

My Goal is to get down to and maintain my weight at 11st 1 pounds (155 pounds). Then my BMI = 24.3 (155/2.2046 = 70.3 kg/2.896 m2). If your BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9, you're an ideal weight for your height (source: NHSDirect).

From crabsallover blog here and especially here it seems that the optimal BMI is possibly around 21. In an analyses carried out for World Health Report 2002, approximately 58% of diabetes and 21% of ischaemic heart disease and 8-42% of certain cancers globally were attributable to a BMI above 21 kg/m2.

For me a BMI 21 is 9st 8 pounds (21 x 2.896 = 60.8kg = 134 pounds). I can do it! I was 9st 13 pounds (BMI 21.7, on holiday in Corfu July 1987) after I lost 2 stone on my first calorie controlled diet. I remember it well!!

As Fitz, the author of Google 15 says "Of course, the big secret that you never hear is that the hardest part about losing weight is keeping the weight off once you've lost it. The Google 15 generally considers you to be on goal as long as your moving average weight stays within 2.5 pounds of your goal weight. So don't stop using it once you've made your goal weight--enter your weight every day and it will give you an early warning if you start to pack on the pounds!"
