Programme (UNDP) Human
Development Index (HDI) is a
composite index measuring average
achievement in three basic dimensions
of human development
1. a long and healthy life (using life
expectancy at birth),
2. knowledge (aggregating the adult
literacy rate with the combined gross
enrolment ration for primary, secondary
and tertiary schools) and
3. a decent standard of living (using
GDP per capita).
